Hamster Wheel

Condolences to the lost dreams, the unaccomplished goals, the missed opportunities and the time wasted hitting yourself in the head while dissecting where that pulsing pain is coming from. Thank you. Thanks for missing out, for being harsh on yourself, for your empty dreams and fragrant promises. Look at you, a hamster with a broken wheel, spinning in place.

“Harsh? Zip it.”

What’s the matter? Scratching your head? Can’t even keep up with your own thoughts, can you? What’s next, a headache? Sleep-deprived? Good. Let that fire crawl under your skin, remind you exactly who you are, and burn the truth into your bones. Come on now, it’s not that bad. Embrace it, absorb it fully, dive deep into it, and if it drowns you, drink all its water and come out on top. Emerge reborn, or rather, revert to what you are. It’s not that bad, don’t let it paralyze you, you’re already paralyzed. What else can happen? Nothing new—I guess it’s time for a wheel replacement.

“Man—what a good nap”

See, it’s not all bad. Give yourself some credit, you’re not too shabby. And hey, if you ever feel stuck, a nap will help… or not.
